Hartley Lifecare Ability Cycle Challenge

Canberra Hartley Life Challenge Bicycle Bike Ride

If you are keen on a challenge in 2012, maybe you should look at completing the Harley Lifecare Ability Cycle Challenge: a 450km ride from Canberra to Mt Kosciusko and return, certainly not for the faint hearted. Not only is it an amazing physical event, you can help raise valuable funds for Hartley Lifecare to assist ACT disabled residents and their families get a better quality of life. Here our guest blogger Belinda tells us how her ride went down in 2011.

Best of Summer Competition

NGA Renaissance Competition

It’s still light enough to enjoy a beer in the sun after work, so one thing is clear – summer is upon us. But that’s not the only thing that we’ve been waiting for, the amazing Renaissance exhibition has finally arrived at the National Gallery of Australia and the Verve Clicquot Sculpture Bar has reopened. There’s so much going on in this crazy town, we just can’t contain ourselves.

To celebrate we are running a competition. The prize? Two tickets to the Renaissance exhibition and a bottle of Verve Clicquot care of our wonderful friends at the Sculpture Bar. Imagine viewing the classics such as Raphael, Botticelli, Bellini and Titian then ducking out to the fabulous sculpture garden to sip champagne and chill out to some killer beats by local DJs. Belissimo!!!

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Shoot Clay Pigeons Targets Canberra Public

If you know me personally then you know whether or not you have made it on to what I call my 'Zombie Apocalypse List'. It is exactly what it sounds like, a comprehensive list of people with the requisite skills to team up with in the (perhaps unlikely) event of the Zombie Apocalypse. Unfortunately, after having gone Clay Pigeon Shooting I myself have been dropped from the list.

Running, running and running

Running in the ACT with the YMCA

A big thanks to Nicole for this article on running in the ACT - I know it has me inspired to go for a run!

Four years ago after a rather sedentary Winter I rashly signed up for a 6 week training course for the 10kms Canberra Times Run. I found the running to be hard, but rewarding and was amazed that I got from barely running 2ks to running the 10kms distance without stopping.

Crossfit @ Rogue PT

It was the ungodly hour of 6:30am on a Saturday when my wife and I emerged from our near comatose state to make the drive down to Chisholm for our first ever Cross-Fit session. I had heard and seen quite a bit about cross fit before and knew I was in for a challenge.
