Best of Summer Competition

NGA Renaissance Competition

It’s still light enough to enjoy a beer in the sun after work, so one thing is clear – summer is upon us. But that’s not the only thing that we’ve been waiting for, the amazing Renaissance exhibition has finally arrived at the National Gallery of Australia and the Verve Clicquot Sculpture Bar has reopened. There’s so much going on in this crazy town, we just can’t contain ourselves.

To celebrate we are running a competition. The prize? Two tickets to the Renaissance exhibition and a bottle of Verve Clicquot care of our wonderful friends at the Sculpture Bar. Imagine viewing the classics such as Raphael, Botticelli, Bellini and Titian then ducking out to the fabulous sculpture garden to sip champagne and chill out to some killer beats by local DJs. Belissimo!!!

Oktoberfest 2011 @ EPIC

Canberra Oktoberfest at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC)

It was Halloween recently. I love Halloween, you get to dress up, eat sweets, have parties - I could care less that it is 'traditionally a North American Holiday'. That said, I was amazed by the number of Scrooges (is that still what you call it with Halloween?) I came across that refuse to participate. Whether it was giving candy to children or dressing up and getting together with friends they insisted it was not an Australian holiday and they would have no part of it. It's funny though how when it comes to Oktoberfest those same people seem to quickly lose their aversion to traditionally foreign holidays...

Fred Williams - Infinite Horizons

Fred Williams Infinite Horizons NGA

Be warned - this article is going to be about art. It may as well be about religion or politics or any other faux pas topic. If there is one things you can always expect from art it is division and like religion and politics you can be sure that anyone on the other side of the discussion is either pretentious or a fool. Let's begin...
